Brinkman's Chicken - $7.69

Creamed Chicken

1 - 28 oz. Can Brinkman's Chunked Chicken

2 Cups milk
4 Tbsp minced onion
4 Tbsp butter
6 Tbsp flour
salt and pepper to taste
2 Cups frozen peans and carrots cooked according to package directions

Drain chicken, reserving liquid to replace part of milk, if desired. Break up chicken and set aside. Cook onion in butter in 3 quart saucepan until translucent. Stir in flour and cook a minute. Add milk to chicken liquid (if saved) to make 2 cups. Stir into flour /butter mixture and whisk over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles. Add chicken to vegetables and heat until all is hot. Serve over biscuits or toast.

Fresh, artisan, Canaan Fir wreaths are for purchase to support the fundraising efforts of Mrs. Foos’ American Cancer Society Relay For Life team Foos and Friends until November 25. The wreaths are available in the traditional circle in sizes of 12 inches for $24.95, 22 inches for $31.95, and 28 inches for $37.95. Additional offerings include a 32 inch candy cane for $32.95 and 26 inch drop door swag for $22.95. New this year, is a beautiful 34 inch cross for $36.95.

The Northwest Ohio made wreaths, each with a festive bow, are available by calling Downtown Deco at 419-287-4305 or emailing psfoos@yahoo.com. Wreath pickup will be Saturday, November 26 – Sunday, December 4. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds of this sale support the American Cancer Society’s efforts to help people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer. Pickle Roll Up

1 Jar of Sechler's Dill Pickles
1 8 oz. tub soft cream cheese
1/2 pound of thinly sliced ham

Spread ham slice with cream cheese. Place pickle at one edge and roll up. Place seam side down on plate and chill a few hours or overnight. Cut into bite sized pieces.

Thanksgiving is coming and it is time to start looking for those special holiday dishes! Beeker's has excellent products to make your meal divine! Let us help you share delicious holiday treats everyone will remember.

Peach Bavarian Mold

1 6 oz. package of peach flavored gelatin

1 1/2 cups of boiling water
1 quart of Mrs. Miller's Peaches
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 8 oz. container of whipped topping

Drain peaches and place in a blender. Pulse on medium speed until pureed. Place gelatin in 2 quart mixing bowl. Add boiling water and stir until dissolved (about two minutes). Stir in pureed peaches and nutmeg. Chill until slightly thickened. (Start checking after an hour). Fold in about 3/4 of the whipped topping, saving the rest for garnish. Pour mixture into serving bowl or 6 cup ring mold. Chill 6-8 hours or overnight. Take out of mold. Garnish with whipped topping and a dash of nutmeg as desired.

On Thursday, July 7th the Pemberville Merchants Assoication will host "Christmas in July Cruisn' from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Beeker's will host a "Open House" featuring artisans/vendors all three days. Cheri Schraidt, Heirloom Santa Artist will have her works featured along with German Feather Trees by Dennis Bauer. Linda Follman, Antique Christmas Collector/Dealer will be displaying her wares for sale. Saturday's events will include two hands-on workshops (pre-registration required). Dennis Bauer, Feather Tree Artisan will lead a class on Feather Trees. Each participant will complete an 18 inch tree. Fee is $30 and includes all materials. Pat Rollins of Glass Art Studio will lead a copper foil technique glass ornament class as well. Each participant will complete an ornament of his/her choosing. Fee is $25 and includes all materials. 10 am – 3 pm

While most communities are winding down for the year, Pemberville is gearing up to host its first annual Winter Carnival ~ Saturday January 8th. Festivities are scheduled from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Winter festivities are planned for all ages Snowmen, snowflakes and the like will be featured around town. Ice Carving by Ice Creations will be featured near the Pemberville Public Library with actual carving to begin around 11 a.m. The finished sculpture should be ready for display/viewing at Noon or shortly thereafter. Inside the Library, a Hot Cocoa Bar will be set-up for all to enjoy. Of course, patrons are invited to select a good book as well! Pemberville’s Opera House will be the setting for two youth puppet show performances. The first show will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the second show beginning at 1:00 p.m. (Nonimal admission charge) Bethlehem’s Puppet Troupe will perform both shows. The Pemberville-Freedom Area Historical Society will be offering a Soup & Sandwich Lunch & Dinner at the Legion Hall. The menu will include homemade soups, sandwiches, cabbage rolls, salads and desserts. Patrons will be able to enjoy a meal before the Opera House’s evening event – Buster Keaton silent movie beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Tickets $12). Advance tickets for the movie are available by calling 419-287-3274. The Country Mercantile will be the starting point for the “Snowman Scavenger Hunt” – 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Participants will gather all the “Necessary Accessories” to embellish their snowman with. Entrants will submit their entries for judging/prizes. Pemberville’s Medicine Shoppe will be hosting storytelling with the “Snow Princess”. Beeker’s General Store will host children’s author Donna Scott-Nusrala from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm for a book signing. A children’s author/educator, her newest title is Gaziilions, Bunches, Ooodles and Tons. All are invited to stop in and meet Donna!. Participants will also be invited to make a “Make it–Take Vintage Snowflake Ornament” as well. Riverbank Antique Market will be hosting its annual “Winter White Sale”. The Market will also offer complimentary marshmallows and sticks for roasting on the open fire. Poppin George’s Keetle Corn will be featured for sale in the downtown area as well. Every week Beeker's General Store has tasty baked treats from "Cook's Delights". Cookies, Brownies, and numerous other yummy items are home produced by "Cook's". They are a local family who specialize in creating some of the best baked items you can find. Stop in and take a dozen cookies home, or call us about ordering treats for your next special event.

Beeker's Ice Cream hosts "Charity Nights"

Beeker's Old Fashion Ice Cream is hosting "Charity Nights" on August 4th and 11th. Come and support the Pemberville Food Pantry on the 4th and Pearl S. Buck International on the 11th. Each staff member selected a charity of their choice and will be donating tips from their designated evening to the respective charity. Beeker's will add $50 to the winning staff member's charity. Previous charity nights included the Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Come and support these important causes and enjoy some yummy Toft's Ice Cream. Summer is going by fast...don't miss out on your chance for this delicious treat before it is gone.

Stewart's Fountain Classics & The Pembeville Fair

If you love garage sales, Pemberville is the place to be on Saturday, July 17th from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. You will find numerous stops and many of the downtown businesses will be having sidewalk sales. The downtown business association will be awarding savings bonds. Shoppers who spend $5.00 or more will recieve a ticket and the drawing will take place at 4:30 pm at the Medicine Shoppe. For more details give us a call at 419-287-3274. Another great reason to make Pemberville a place to visit this summer.

The Pemberville-Freedom Area Historical Society is raffling off a stunning quilt this year at Pemberville's Autumn Fest. Tickets are available at Beeker's Store for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
